DHS has been at the center of major developments this week, as the Trump administration intensifies its focus on border security, immigration enforcement, and domestic threats.
Feds Deploy
DHS deployed elite special operations teams to Chicago this week following multiple attacks on federal agents during immigration enforcement actions. Protesters, labeled “domestic terrorists” by DHS, hurled rocks, bottles, smoke bombs and other objects at agents, leading to a number of protester arrests. The Illinois Governor's refusal to provide local police support escalated tensions.
Similarly, in Portland, a federal judge temporarily blocked deployment of hundreds of National Guard troops after months of Antifa-linked violence, including assaults on officers and vandalism at federal sites. DHS reports dozens of arrests nationwide in recent weeks as part of efforts to protect federal facili ties and personnel.
Antifa in the Crosshairs
At a high-profile roundtable on Wednesday, President Trump reaffirmed his administration’s hardline stance against Antifa, which he formally designated as a domestic terrorist organization last month. Joined by Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, the President declared that the federal government would pursue the far-left extremist group, vowing to dismantle its networks, funding, and backers.
The President warned that Antifa has operated for too long with impunity, relying on media cover and soft-on-crime local governments to carry out its violent agenda. He emphasized the need to trace and expose the money behind Antifa’s operations, saying, “We’re coming after the people writing the checks.”
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Gnome warned of Antifa’s increasing organization, drawing comparisons to foreign terror groups like Hamas, ISIS, and MS-13. “They’re sophisticated,” she said, “and they’re targeting America from within.” Gnome also slammed leftist city governments for enabling Antifa’s rise by refusing to prosecute violence and property destruction.
Liberal pundits continue to downplay Antifa as “leaderless” or “symbolic,” and that may well be the case. But when dozens show up on buses at different events and start tearing things up, someone is writing checks. When groups are walking around with common flags, t-shirts, and their idiotic plastic shields, someone is writing checks. And what about the bail money paid when members are arrested? Where is the cash coming from? In all of this, someone is writing checks to undermine American law and order, and the Trump administration appears intent on dealing a serious blow to the movement.
